It is designed to add two SATA channels for connecting up to two SATA hard disk drives. The DP SATA II PCIe host controller delivers data transfer rates of up to 3.0Gb/s and supports 48-bit LBA for drives with capacity up to 4TB. Additional features supported by this Serial ATA host controller include independent command fetch, scatter/gather, command execution, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), Non-zero offsets NCQ and Out-of-order data delivery NCQ ensure fast and reliable data transfers.
