Transcend's 2.5-inch SATA SSD series has a distinct advantage over standard 2.5" HDDs in that they are made of solid-state memory with no moving parts, and therefore not susceptible to mechanical failure resulting from vibration, shock, heat, etc. Its modern SATA interface delivers higher data transfer rates than standard IDE and ensures compatibility with today's high performance notebook and desktop computers. Moreover, SATA cables are much thinner and more compact than IDE cables, which allows for less cluttered installations with better cooling from improved airflow.
